Welcome to 2023

It's been a minute since I wrote a blog post so I wanted to add an entry for the start of 2023. Unlike other years, I don't see this January as a fresh start, but more of a continuation of what I've been doing for the past three and a half years now. I've been fortunate in that my business has been on a gradual incline since I started, hitting a massive peak starting in May 2021. It's always a challenge and feels like a pressure maintaining that momentum and deciding what areas of a business need the most focus on day-in day-out. A balance between creating fresh new ideas or pushing the ones you've already worked on. Between having a structured plan and winging it.

I have a couple of exciting projects lined up for this year and have already completed my first new piece of the year, taking my art in the slightly new direction of Snowsports - another interest of mine. I have plans to add some more digital work to my hand painted work this year, I want to do some more freelance Architecture work and I plan to get a van to allow me to work a little more nomadically while attending some art shows. My sales are down on last year, something I was expecting but my workflow and energy is noticeably up on last year, something I was not expecting as I have found January a tougher month in the past.

I have a lot fewer social engagements to fit in this year so far, am firmly working from home again at the moment and have carried on my work in the gym from late last year which has added a lot to my life in a short space of time. I've also been away on a biking trip over New Year and my first Snowboarding holiday in three years!

I'm really excited for what this year will bring and I look forward to sharing it with you! Thank you as always for helping to support me as I grow The Old Arthouse and hope you all have a great year.

Tom
